Did You Support Children Getting Baptized?
by minimus inafter reading blondie's thread of the baptisms at the district convention, i couldn't help but identify with the 11 year old that said she was so happy to be baptized and has wanted to be baptized for years now.
i was 9 when i got baptized but really wanted to take the plunge at around 7. after my mother talked to the congregation servant about my desire, he said that she should not hold me back.
my daughter was 14 when she got baptized.

JW's How do you see whats odd here?
by Its so simple inyou never here about compassion for mankind unless it's at the end of the guilt sentence of ' you have a responsibility to preach'.
if you ask a specific question to 50 catholic's or mormons, or bahai's, whatever, you will get at least 45 to 50 different answers.
if you ask a specific question to a jw about meeting attendance, birthdays etc you will likely get the same answer from 48 of those 50 people.

she has some anger issues to say the least.

Discipline or abuse - Which?
by Lady Lee ini am having a discussion on another board about the topic of disciplining children.
some people seem to think that as long as the child did something to "deserve" it then the parent has the right to hit anyway they want.. grrrr.
many of us grew up in a society that accepted the practice of corporal punishment.

Feelings & Disagreements
by Megaera ini noticed something that was said on another thread, and it's off the topic of the particular thread, so i'm giving it a spot of its own.i think that's the source of a lot of our problems when it comes to race ignorance of others' feelings as well as pent-up hurt feelings that need to get out.. .
those are very intelligent words, and i believe they go beyond the issue of race.
they can probably be applied to every disagreement between any two people anywhere on the planet.

Why On Earth Did You Ever Become A Witness & What Made You Decide To Leave?
by minimus ini've known for years that if i was visited at my home by jehovah's witnesses, i would have become a do not call.
i would have firmly but politely told the witnesses to never come back to my door and bother me again.
since i was raised "in the truth", i learned the religion from infancy.

by freedom96 inlast night, as i mentioned on my last thread, i suprised my wife with a watchtower i had found.
well, we didn't want that garbage in the home, so i decided to burn it.. i was waiting to hear screaming and howling, to prove that is was demonic.
but, instead, it would not light.
